Who We Are?

Creech St Michael Baptist Church gathers and processes your personal information in accordance with this privacy notice and in compliance with the relevant data protection regulation and law. This notice provides you with the necessary information regarding your rights and obligations, and explains how, why and when we collect and process your personal data.

Information That We Collect

Creech St Michael Baptist Church processes your personal information to meet our legal, statutory, charitable and contractual obligations and to provide you with our services. We will never collect any unnecessary personal data from you and do not process your information in any other way than already specified in this notice.

We collect information in the ways described below: -

When you contact us through our website, or by calling us, we may collect personal data such as your name, telephone number and e-mail address.

 

Additional personal data is usually collected through our interactions with you or through e-mail correspondence and through our secure portal service, Church Suite.

 

When potential employees contact us enquiring about vacancies within the Church, we will request an electronic copy of their CV.

 

How We Use Your Personal Data

Creech St Michael Baptist Church takes your privacy very seriously and will never disclose, share or sell your data without your consent, unless required to do so by law. We only retain your data for as long as is necessary and for the purposes specified in this notice. When we consider that information additional services or support may be of use to you we may contact you with details through newsletters or direct e-mailshots, you are free to withdraw such consent at any time. 

 

The purposes and reasons for processing your personal data are detailed below: -

·         We collect your personal data in the performance of our charitable and pastoral aims to provide a place of worship to our members, regular attenders & guests and provide events and pastoral support to you and your family

·         We collect and store your personal data as part of our legal obligation for business accounting and tax purposes

·         We have a legal obligation to share your personal data with HM Revenue & Customs when reclaiming Gift Aid on any donations

You have the right to access any personal information that Creech St Michael Baptist Church processes about you and to request information about: -

We do not share or disclose any of your personal information without your consent, other than for the purposes specified in this notice or where there is a legal requirement. Creech St Michael Baptist Church uses third-parties to provide the below services and business functions, however all processors acting on our behalf only process your data in accordance with instructions from us and comply fully with this privacy notice, the data protection laws and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

 

Lentells Ltd Chartered Certified Accountants.

 

We use Lentells Ltd to process our monthly payroll and they act as a processor on our behalf.  We provide them with personal information of employees in order that they may fulfill our contract with them to provide this service.

We use Lentells Ltd to prepare our end of year Accounts and provide an Audit / Independent Examination.  We provide them with personal information relating to income and expenditure of the church in order that they may fulfill our contract with them to provide this service.

ChurchApp Ltd

 

We use software / services provided by ChurchApp Ltd (ChurchSuite) to enable us to effectively store details of members, regular attenders, friends and guests.  Personal information is securely saved within the website and although ChurchApp Ltd do not have day to day access to your data, they are able to access your data for support purposes and in order that they may fulfill our contract with them to provide this service.

Safeguarding Measures

Creech St Michael Baptist Church takes your privacy seriously and takes every reasonable measure and precaution to protect and secure your personal data. We work hard to protect you and your information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction and have several layers of security measures in place, including: -

 

·         Encryption of data held on office computers and servers.

·         Restrictions on access to both PC’s and data held on servers

·         Secure Portal for Leadership Team, restricted by Username / Password and protected by SSL encryption, to enable viewing of sensitive data

 

 

Consequences of Not Providing Your Data

You are not obligated to provide your personal information to Creech St Michael Baptist Church, however, as this information is required for us to provide you with our services, we will not be able to offer all of our services without it.

 

How Long We Keep Your Data

Creech St Michael Baptist Church only ever retains personal information for as long as is necessary and we have strict review and retention policies in place to meet these obligations.

 

We are required under UK tax law to keep your personal data for a minimum of 6 years in relation to any donations made by you, after which they will be destroyed.

Where you have consented to us using your details for direct marketing, we will keep such data until you notify us otherwise and withdraw your consent.

 

We will keep data as part of the legitimate activities of the church (a non-profit body or association) which exists for religious purposes, where the processing:

·         Is carried out with the appropriate safeguards for the rights and freedoms of data subjects

·         Relates only to individuals who are members of the body or who have regular contact with it in connection with its purpose; and

·         Does not involve disclosure of the sensitive personal data to a third party without the consent of the data subject

 

We will keep some data, including details of marriages, baptisms, funerals for historical analysis.

 

Special Categories Data (if applicable)

Owing to the nature of Creech St Michael Baptist Church sometimes we need to request sensitive personal information from you to be aware of health issues and enable us to support you pastorally, prayerfully and through our wider community. Where we collect sensitive personal data, we will only request the information required for the specified purpose and always ask for your explicit consent. You can modify or remove consent at any time, which we will act on immediately, unless there is a legitimate interest or legal reason for not doing so.

 

Lodging A Complaint
